CBD comes from the cannabis plant. People refer to cannabis plants as either hemp or marijuana, depending on how much THC they contain. The FDA note that hemp plants are legal under the Farm Bill, as long as they contain less than 0.3% THC. All cannabinoids produce effects in the body by interacting with cannabinoid receptors, which form part of the endocannabinoid system. Broad Spectrum Broad-spectrum CBD is very similar to full-spectrum CBD in that it contains additional cannabis plant compounds. However, most broad-spectrum CBD products zero or trace amounts of THC, but there should be less than the 0.3% contained in full-spectrum products. Like full-spectrum CBD, broad-spectrum products may have a higher likelihood of producing beneficial health effects than CBD isolate because of the "entourage effect".
